[Imports Reduced but the Recycling of Scrap Copper and Scrap Aluminium Increased] Although imports of scrap metal decreased sharply, the recycling of scrap aluminium and scrap copper in China increased in 2018 comparing with the year earlier. China recycled 5.1 million tons of scrap aluminium in 2018, which is an increase of 1% from 5.05 million tons in 2017; and 2.1 million tons of scrap copper in 2018, which is an increase of 5% from 2 million in 2017. China Customs data showed that after the government’s policy of restricting the solid waste to enter into China, imports of China scrap aluminium decreased by 30%, about 1.5 million tons year on year in 2018.

CMRA Works:

[CMRA Is Actively Making 2019 Work Plan] Facing the new challenges, around the raw materials standards of imported recycling copper and aluminum, aluminum ash,electrolyzer slag disposal and utilization, recycling metal tax policy, recycling system development, product high-value utilization, sorting and smelting level improvement, international technology and equipment docking, industrial think tank and other issues, CMRA strengthens internal management, and actively plans the work of 2019, to improve quality and efficiency of the industry, and promote the industry green development.

 

[CMRA Will Organize International Exchange in the United States and Canada in April] CMRA will organize international exchange in the United States and Canada, to participate in ISRI Convention and Exposition 2019 and focus on the development of raw material standards of high-quality recycling copper and aluminium, striving to internationalize the domestic standards of recycling copper and aluminium, and visit representative recycling copper and aluminum raw material enterprises, enterprises of processing and utilization, technology research and development, equipment manufacturing and etc. in the United States and Canada.

 

[CMRA Is Actively Working on the Development of Raw Materials Product Quality Standards of Recycling Copper and Recycling Aluminium ] In order to scientifically define the raw materials of nonferrous metals, secondary resources and solid waste, establish and improve the relevant standard system, formulate raw materials standards of high-quality recycling nonferrous metals required by industrial development, and ensure the green sustainable development of industry, CMRA is actively formulating raw materials product quality standards of recycling copper and aluminium, and the standard plans to be released officially in October, 2019.
