CMRA Delegation Visit SA Recycling LA and Minmetals LA

To promote the international exchanges and cooperation, learn from the advanced technology, equipment and management experience of recycling industry, CMRA delegation flied to US on April 25 for a 12-day business visit.

On April 29, CMRA delegation visited SA Recycling in Los Angeles, one nonferrous yard in L.A. downtown and one ferrous yard in Terminal Island. SA Recycling is a joint venture between California scrap processor Adams Steel and the global leader in metals recycling Sims Metal Management. The US company runs 40 recycling plants, with its operations including two deep-water port facilities and four shredders.

During the visit to the nonferrous metal yard in L.A. downtown, Mr Tyler Adams, the Regional Manager of SA Recycling, guided CMRA delegation a yard tour and introduced the operation of the yard, how the metal scraps are collected, cleaned, processed and distributed etc.

During the visit to SA Recycling ferrous yard at Terminal Island L.A., CMRA delegation, accompanied with Mr Bob Melenick, President of SGM US and Mr Ryan Njovro, General Manager of SGM US (SA Recycling ferrous yard using SGM shredders), met Mr Moises Figueroa, Regional General Manager. Mr Moises Figueroa introduced the history of SA Recycling, Mr Bob Melenick and Mr Ryan Njovro introduced the SGM shredder systems adopted by the yard during the yard tour.

After visit to SA Recycling L.A., CMRA delegation also visited Minmetals, INC. (L.A.) and had a friend talk with Mr WANG Xingdong, President & CEO, Ms Cindy MA, Vice President and Tim WANG, Division Manager of Metals & Building Materials, Minmetals, INC. (L.A.). Minmetals, INC. (L.A.) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Minmetals Corporation and was established in 1988 with the main business being recycling metals import and export. Minmetals, INC. (L.A.) maintains good relationship with more than 100 scrap yards in US and ensures the supply of quality metals scrap demanded by the parent company.
